Will My Car Be A Total Loss ? Mechanics Advice Please?
I have a Ford focus T Reg (1999) and i recently skidded on some ice, went up a kerb and plowed into a bollard, at first damage looked minimal with the fog lamps broke and the grill and bumper off so i thought it was only cosmetic work.
I then tried to drive it and it felt like my wheels had buckled or something as the steering was shaking and kept feeling bumpy.
Anyway, managed to get to a safe place and lifted the bonnet and it looks like the Radiator/Fan thing right at the front has been pushed up to the rest of my engine…also it smelt funny like burning/smouldering.
Obviosuly i havent driven it since, its with the insurance Co who are now dealing with it, I am having it inspected tomorrow and want to know the likelihood of them total lossing it also how much you reckon my car might be worth.
Its a Ford Focus Zetec 1999 T Reg 1.6 engine, mileage is only 70K and its a bloody brilliant little runner !
I will be gutted if it is a total loss but i am preparing myself for it anyway.
Also if it was a total loss what Category do you think it would be in ?
I know that Cat C means i get car and money and can fix if i want but i know A & B are not allowed back on road as a car, but can be sold as parts etc.
HELP !!! Thanks
